PERLZ proposes adopting marketing recommendations and guidelines to reduce minors’ exposure to nicotine-containing products.
PERLZ products are intended as an alternative to cigarettes for adults and must not be marketed to individuals under 18 years old.
PERLZ products must not be sold by individuals under 18 years old.
YOUTH PREVENTION
PERLZ supports actions aimed at preventing youth access to its products and all nicotine products.
The packaging and marketing materials of PERLZ products must include a statement indicating that sales to minors are prohibited.
PERLZ advocates for online sales with mandatory age verification at the time of purchase.
PERLZ recommends that retailers display warnings stating that the products are not for sale to minors.
PERLZ expects all resellers to comply with age restrictions and national laws. They must request identification from anyone who appears to be underage.
RESPONSIBLE MARKETING
The marketing of PERLZ products adheres to the following standards:
- Labels must accurately reflect the ingredients of each product, and all communications must clearly state if the product contains nicotine.
- Marketing is aimed at current smokers and must not encourage non-smokers to start using our products.
- Outdoor advertisements must be placed at a distance from primary schools, secondary schools, or daycare centers.
- Products will not be marketed using visuals attractive to minors, associated with "youth culture," or in a way that imitates brands or designs used for products intended for minors.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We encourage our distributors, retailers, and partners to comply with the regulations of the social media platforms they use.
Some platforms, such as Facebook or TikTok, do not allow the promotion of nicotine product sales or usage unless the products are for smoking cessation. Other platforms, like Instagram, restrict nicotine-related content to individuals aged 16 and above.
